In the case of a two alarm fire you can not expect Bowman- ville men to know which road is the fifth line unless there is a sign. On Sunday morning Rev. T. Rex Norman was the guest speaker . He told us about the great work of the Bible Society in translating the Bible into the language of 150 different countries of the world. The Canadian Bible Society is celebrating 75 years of service to you and to your chuch. Over one million scriptures are being sent out daily. Canada's INUIT people are in real need of a New Bible translation in Eskimo. On May 6th we will have as our guest speaker Mrs. Joyce McLean from Pickering. Mrs. McLean is President of the Oshawa U.C.W. Presbyterial. She will give the message at the Sunday morning service at 11:15 a.m, . Kendal Women's Institute met at the home of Mrs. R. Elliott on their regular meeting meeting date of the third Wednesday Wednesday in the month, April 18th with eight members present.. Mrs. K. Dykeman opened the meeting with the singing of the Ode and the Mary Stewart collect. This was the meeting when changes are made in the officers. Mrs. K. Dykeman requested that someone be nominated to replace her. Miss •C. Stewart nominated Mrs. Helen Henderson, she was given unanimous support support It was decided that the other officers would remain the Same for another year. A vote of apppreciation was extended to Mrs. K. Dykeman for her fine leadership during the-past three years. Plans, were made for the Penny Sale on May 5th. The buttêrfly quilt has been completed and we are quite proud of our • handiwork. The annual programs programs were prepared. A delicious lunch was provided by Mrs. J. Stapleton and Mrs. Del Gosson. Remember the Senior Citizen's Citizen's bake sale in Bowman- ville at 1:15 a.m. on May 1st, leave baking that morning with Mrs. R. Elliott.
