President and Vice President of local C of C sworn in On Monday evening Mr.. Ron Reed was sworn in as president of the Orono Cham ber of Commerce with Mrs. Sue Sawyer sworn in as vice-president. Mayor Garnet Rickard of the Town of Newcastle conducted the brief ceremony at a regular meeting of the Chamber held at the Orono Public School. Finalizing agreement for Orono It is expected that the development agreement for the proposed new Orono Shopping Centre in the northeast northeast corner of the Village will be ready for presentation to the Planning Committee and Council in July. In ' speaking with Miss Norma Forest of the Planning Department she said the department was now working on drafting the development agreement. She said there was still a few items to be cleared up before the final agreement was drafted but saw no problem in having the agreement ready for mid 1 July. As of January 1st, 1980 hydro in the three areas in the Town of Newcastle' will |>e provided by a newly appointed appointed commission as a result of the amalgamation of the existing three commissiÔns.
