8-Orono Weekly Times, Wednesday, June 13th, 1979 Work of four on exhibition The current exhibition at the, Margot Samuel Gallery, 899 Nelson Street, Oshawa. features the work of four tofotito artists: Cliff, Hazel- grove, Leonard and Pugen. Denis Cliff was born in Victoria, B.Ç. and moved to Toronto in 1967. Cliff is showing several abstract works done in stained acrylic on canvas. He has had extensive teaching experience experience as well as solo and group exhibitions in Canada and the States. Cliff is presently commissioned by the Eaton Centre in Toronto to work on a mural foj - Eaton's Canadian Celebration. Celebration. Nancy Hazelgrove is also an abstract artist. Her works are done in charcoal and wash. Both she and Cliff were represented in "Alternatives" "Alternatives" at the Whitby Station Station in 1978. Hazelgrove will be exhibiting at the Erindale College Art Gallery at the University of Toronto later this fall. John Leonard is a realist who works in acrylic on paper and acrylic on canvas. He was born in England arid studied and worked in Victoria, Victoria, B.C. , before coming to Toronto. His work was recently recently featured in an Ontario Provincial Touring Exhibition. Exhibition. Diane Pugen is also a realist who works in charcoal, etching and embossing. She appeared previously in the Margot Samuel Gallery show "By Women". Pugen was born in Toronto and studied in Chicago and New York. Cliff, Hazelgrove, Leonard and Pugen have all exhibited at A.C.T. in Toronto, and have .been involved in teaching at Arts' Sake Inc. Their work is on view Tuesday through Saturday, from noon until 4 -p.m., at 899 Nelson Street, Oshawa, until June 23.
