The Brides mother received guests at a reception held at the Orono Community Center, wearing an Ivory chiffon over taffeta gown with matching lace jacket with a coral carnation silk flower corsage. The bridesgrooms mother greeted guests in a dusty rose gown with a pink rose corsage of silk flowers. The bride's going away outfit consisted of a 3-piece blue plaid suit, accented by a yellow silk rose corsage. The couple enjoyed a honeymoon to the West Coast. The happy couple will reside in Orono, Ontario. Would not have accepted resignation Counc. Hobbs proposed that council not accept the resignation resignation of Douglas Simpson from the Orono. Hydro Electric Electric Commission when a copy of Simpson's resignation to the Orono commission came before council. The motion caught Counc. Holliday off guard and after seconding the motion asked that his support of the motion be withdrawn. Counc. Hobbs said it was rather unusual to second a motion and then withdraw that action, but "I will agree". With Holliday having his name removed as a seconder there was no support support for the motion. Mayor Rickard said it was not within the jurisdiction of council either to accept or not accept the resignation. He pointed out that it was only a copy of a letter to the Orono Commission Counc. Front then asked if the letter should not be passed on to the nfw Commission. CLARKE HIGH SCHOOL Enrolment has increased slightly at the Clarke High School this year with an enrolment figure of 614 on opening comparing with 597 on opening day of school in 1978. In speaking with Mr. Witherspoon Witherspoon of the school he said he had ■ estimated the enrolment enrolment would have increased to 604 on opening day but this figure had been passed with an additional ten students. He said a final enrolment check will be made on October 1st. Mr. Witherspoon was excited excited over the Co-op educational educational program out of the school this year and said some fifty pupils were enrolled enrolled in the program. He felt this was better than average. The program is under the direction of Mrs. L. Carlson and Mr. Breckenridge. Mrs. Carlson has also been appointed appointed to the Provincial Executive of the Co-op educational educational program. The program provides the opportunity for students, especially especially in grade 12, to gain experience during the school, year. ENROLMENT STATIC AT ORONO-LOCKHARTS Enrolment remains static in the Orono and Lockharts Public School with a total enrolment of three hundred and sixty. There are 45 children enrolled in the Orono ' Kindergarten compared with fifty last year. PINES SENIOR PUBLIC Enrolment at the ' Pines Senior Public School is slightly slightly up this year, says Vice- Princial Grant Yeo. Enrol-' ment will stabilize by neyt week with the figures being available along with a list of new teachers. KIRBY-KENDAL Kirby-Kendal Schools have an attendance of 249 students, down only 3 students from last year's enrolment. ■ The Grade 6 students havë an added subject this year, French, taught by Mr. Ron Henry. Every day the class receives 20 to 30 minutes of instruction in conversational french. There are three new teachers teachers to Kirby-Kendal this year. All have been with the Orono Weekly Times, Wednesday, September 12th, 1979-9 beèn relocated. Mrs. Lynn Depuis, is at Kendal teaching a grade ,1 and 2 class. At Kirby is Miss Meredith Evans who teaches Grades 4 and 5. Mr, Tom Bevan also at Kirbv. has a grade 6 class.
