Take notice that the council of the corporation of the Town of Newcastle intends to apply to The Ontario Municipal Board pursuant to the provisions of Section 35 of The Planning Act for approval of By-Law No. 80-26 passed on'the 10th day of March 1980. A copy of the By-Law is furnished herewith and a note giving an explanation of the purpose and effect of the By-Law and stating the lands affected thereby is also furnished herewith. Any person interested may, within twenty-one (21) days after the date of this notice, send by registered mail or deliver to the.clerk of the Town of Newcastle notice of objection to approval of the said By-Law or part thereof giving details of ail or the portion of the By-Law to which you object and detailed reasons therefor, and shall indicate that if à hearing is held the objector or an agent will attend at the hearing to support the objection. . 'r ' The Purpose and Effect of By-Law 80-26 is to amend the Restricted Area (Zoning) by-laws of the former Township of Clarke, by increasing the Maximum fine which may be levied by the Courts for zoning by-law infractions from $300 to $1000. These amendments result from a recent amendment to the Municipal Act, which increased the maximum fine for this purpose from $300 to $1000. The public is invited to join us in welcoming welcoming this season by participating participating in Maple Syrup Day at the Ganaraska Forest Centre. Tours of the sugar bush will commence at 10 a.m. arid proceed until all involved , have had the opportunity to view the maple bush and evaporating facilities. The content of the tour will be aimed at all age levels and we encourage people to make this a family outing. This experience will be free to the general public. In addition, pancakes, and fresh maple syrup will be served up hot at a cost of one dollar per person. The Ganaraska Forest Centre Centre is located approximately 2.5 miles north of County Road No. 9 midway between the town of Elizabethville and Kendal. Another feature of the sugaring-off party this Saturday Saturday will be the opening to the public of the new log cabin sugar shack. This new building building at the Forest Centre replaces the former sugar shack which last spring was destroyed by fire. The log cabin sugar shack has been engineered by George Eiger, superintendent of maintenance at the Centre with assistance from all other staff. The work of saddlecutting saddlecutting the logs was done through the use of a chain saw and the pains-taking skills of the staff are quite in evidence in the structure. Already there has been a great deal of » interest in the building and the workmanship which has , gone into its construction.
