Our meeting was opened with the singing of 0 Canada. We were very pleased to have present at this meeting our Junior Gardeners and their exhibits. Our secretary Lorna Atkins read her report followed by our musical talents for the evening. Mrs. Gladys Brown played the piano and sang a few songs, we had a piano luetby Mrs. Prust and Roger .Proctor. Our main feature of the evening was Mr. Lowe showing showing films on his and Mrs. Lowe's trip to Hawaii. Sr. administrators get 9 p.c. increase Eight senior administrators with the Northumberland and Nfewcastle Board of Education Education will receive a salary increase of nine percent to become effective on July 1st, 1980. The salaries will continué continué for a year ending on June 30th, 1981. The salary increases- range from $4,410 down,to $2,835. Under the new schedule the , director of education, Douglas Douglas Siftoni will receive $53,410 with the superintendent of special services, Dave Patterson Patterson and superintendent of instructional services, Robert Moorcroft receiving a salary of $49,050^ The three area superintendents, superintendents, John Gowing, Dr. Riley Moynes and Harry Knapper will receive $47,145 and assistant assistant business administrator, Gordon Savage will receive $34,335.00. The salary increases were adopted by the board last Thursday in a recorded vote of 10-4. Those voting in favour of the nine percent increase were: George Cameron, William William Carman, Emmett Creighton, Brian Gibb, Angus McFee, Dorothy Oliver, Elizabeth Parken, Harriet Reisler, Andrew Thompson, Allen Werrÿ, Dr, Ian Wilson and Board chairwoman, Sheila Parker.
