6-Orono Weekly Times, Wednesday, December 17th, 1980 Fun day at Forest Centre The Fun Day at the Ganaraska Forest Centre ori Sunday afternoon attracted a large crowd who took part in the activities as well as the church service held'at the end of the day in the gymnasium. The one team of horses bécame weary after tripping by sleigh well over one hundred adults and children who were out for the occasion. Free hot dogs and hot chocolate were also a feature of the afternoon. Around fifty remained for the late afternoon church service conducted by Rev. Wyatt of Port Hope who in a short service spoke of the solitude and beauty of the forest. He said one should appreciate their natural resources, resources, Christmas carols were also sang during the course of the servicè. Live organ music of carols rang out throughout the afternoon and for the service. The forest centre was also active with a host of cross country skiers out for their. first trip of the season, an early start in comparison with recent years.
