They had a great season finishing first in their group with 20 wins, no losses and 4 ties, The only games they lost were in exhibition play and tournaments. The first game was on Saturday in Orono, and then on Sunday the boys travelled to Millbrook. Orono defeated Millbrook both games by scores of 4-1 and 7-3.. Scott Williams was in goal for Orono and played well for both games. The home game saw Orono score the only first period goal. Kevin Roberts poked it in, with the assist going to Jason Brachvogel. Kent Vander- heyden put the boÿs up by two with an unassisted goal in the second period. Millbrook opened the scoring in the third and Mark Vahderheyderi for a fine effort. Baltimore scored, thë first goal of the second period to tie the game. Anthony Webb scored assisted by Blaine Souch to take the lead. Baltimore scored again to tie it again. No. 1 Pee wees stopped Baltimore op a winning, streàk when Orono travelled tô Baltimore defeating them 4-1. Baltimore opened the scoring late in the first period. Then Orono came on strong. Early in the second Kevin Hartwig, assisted by Mark Sargent, put Orono on the board at 13:15. Peter Armstrong scored unassisted at 9:40, then at 6:27 Brian Souch scored assisted by Robbie Jerome and Kevin Hartwig, making it 3-1 at the end of the second. » Robbie Jerome scored assisted by Mark Sargent to win the game. Orono Novice Roughley Insurance travelled to Port Hope on Saturday defeating them 6-3, Orono playing with, only seven players. Anthony Webb, unassisted, opened the scoring at 11:50 in the first period with lots of end to end action. Port Hope scored to tie it early in the second. Then Orono scored three quick goals, Blaine Souch assisted by Anthony Webb, Todd Gray unassisted, and Blaine Souch assisted by Briah Rodd and Anthony Webb. Port Hope scored again. Blaine Souch scored, assisted by Brian Rodd to make it 5-2 at the end of the second period. Port Hope then scored in the third period. Blaine Souch scored assisted by Anthony Webb at the IT:*40 mark. Final score 6-3. The boys all played hard and Blaine Souch got a hat trick! Good work boys. F, Pee Wees Orono travelled to Bewdley to bè defeated 5-4. Bewdley opened the scoring at 10:21. Peter Armstrong scored assisted by Kevin Hartwig and Robbie Jerome to tie it 1-1 at the end of the first. Robert Snoek scored assisted by Darren Dennis, then Bewdley scored two quick goals, making it 3-2 for Bewdley. Orono appeared to let up a little. Robert Snoek scored assisted by Mark Sargent and Darren Dennis to tie it again. Bewdley then scored two goals. Peter Armstrong scored assisted by Kevin Hartwig and Robert Snoek at the 4:04 mark to end it 5-4. Orono just couldn't get the puck in the net to come up with a tie. A good game. Orono plays again on Friday on home ice. Tennant Fuel Atoms ♦ On Saturday, January 31st the Tennant Fuel O.M.H.A. Atoms played host to Manvers for an exhibition game and came out winners by a 3-1 score. The first two periods were scoreless with both teams having numerous Scoring chances only to be turned back «by sortie .gfeat goaltending at both ends. In the third period at the 10:29 mark David Bailey finally put one in with assists going to Brian Hill and Kevin Mumford. Ted Gaudet then made it 2-0 on a beautiful unassisted effort.
