The service, beginning on a daily basis June 1 and continuing continuing until Labor Day, is being being provided by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism in co-operation with the Ministry of Natural Resources., The area covered by the reports is bounded in the north by Killàrney Provincial Park, just south of Sudbury; in the southwest by Holiday Beach, near Windsor; and in the east by Carillon, on the Quebec border near Hawkesbury. The service does not include include reservations. However, a majority of the parks db take campsite bookings if called directly. Park phone numbers can be obtained by calling any travel information centre. Presentation of award The Canada Fitness Award is a programme of the Government of Canada, Ministry of Fitness and Amateur Sport. The purpose of ' the programme is to "motivate children towards fitness early in life and to teach them the need for regular physical activity throughout life. The fitness test consists pf six test items that measure a child's overall fitness: flexed arm hang, shuttle run, speed sit-ups, standing long jump, 50 m run and endurance run. ■ A table of standards has been constructed to measure the fitness-performance of the Canadian youth. Fitness Award crests are given out on the basis of the scores for the six test items. To qualify for a bronze award, a bronze score must be achieved on 4 test items, including the endurance endurance run. The same for silver and gold, levels. An award of excellence is achieved achieved by attaining the excellence level on all six test items. The students at Orono Public School, from 7 years old and up, participated in the Cânada Fitness Awards. A large number of these received the Excellence level and during,a special awards assembly at Orono Public School were presented with their crests and certificates. Larry Simpson, by-law control officer, informed a recent committee meeting that sales for the first half of 1981 had dropped to $1,746 compared to $2,500 for the same period in 1979 and 1980. He said it was not to the fact there were less dogs in Newcastle but rather an indifference indifference on the part of owners to obtain a licence. Simpson said if a dog is picked up by the Town having having a tag the Town is ♦obligated to contact the owner and care for the dog. On the other hand if a dog does not carry a tag the Town need only hold the dog for three days. Mayor Rickard said he favoured a door to door selling selling policy which had been carried ■ out in the past whereby a person received a Commission for selling a tag. Simpson said he would also like council to consider staffing staffing and the hours of operation operation for the department. At the present time there are two employed to carry out the duties of the department and the department js closed after 5:00 p.m. and on week-ends. , The report is to be in the hands of council by the end of July. THE GANARASKA REGION CONSERVATION AUTHORITY REQUIRES TWO Outdoor Education Instructors at the Ganaraska Forest Centre Duties include teaching and supervision of residential ' groups (grades five to ten), programme development and implementation of public events'. One instructor will be required to live on site, « Qualified applicants should have excellent communication, communication, skills'and teaching experience in the fields of Conservation Education, the Natural Sciences and-or Outdoor Recreation. A teaching certificate is preferred but not required equivalent experience will be given equal consideration.' * Duration: September 7th, 1981 to June 25th, 1982 , Salary: $10,000 (42 weeks) Please submit resume to D.H.
