Diamond Company to undertake the first stage Of a study for new administrative facilities -for the Town. According to Mayor Rickard, the firm is to make recommendation on the mbst suitable site for such facilities. He said the firm will report the suitability of the present Town Hall, the Court House Building, the Organ factory, and other sites that may be available for a new building. The study, stated Mayor Rickard, has an upset figure of $25,000.00. Funding for the work is to come from the building account which has over $400,000.00 resulting from building permit feès from Ontario Hydro. Mayor Rickard said he has asked if the present Town Hall is determined not suitable for administrative purpose that the firm report as. to what purpose, the building could be used. He said' he would not like to see the building demolished. Hydra conducts local office merger study Ontario Hydro is studying the possible mere-.- of its Bowmanville a Cobourg Areas into a sir ■„ area based at Wesleyville, Cliff Elliott, Hydro's Central Region Director, announced today.
