At the same time as the reconstruction of the sidewalks and extended boulevard, Newcastle Hydro will complete their project of removing hydro lines and hydro poles on the east side. It is expected that the project will be completed within a two week period or less. Under the Public Works Department of the Town of Newcastle, a contract, has been let in an amount of some $33,000 for the work including including new sidewalks, new boulevard and planters. The project also includes three sets of steps from the road level to the sidewalk level with centre rails. The project, when completed, completed, will also include the planting of some trees with metal guards on the cast side of the business section. Lyall, the former owner and •publisher of the Newcastle Reporter, has retained his equipment equipment from his Newcastle days and states he is already to go by the end of the month. The newspaper is to be known as the Guildwood Scarborough Guardian. Lyall states that Guildwood is a community of some 2000 homes in Scarborough. Scarborough. Preparing for winter activity T he Canadian Ski Patrol System is now thinking snow and winter activities on the slopes and trails.
