The kindergarten and early grades at the Orono- Lockharts Public School cer tainly enjoyed all the Hallowe'en festivities not to be forgotten 'Bobbing for Apples'. It all happened on Friday, October 30th at the Orono School. Fund Raising One of the main activities going on at Clarke was the selling of chocolate bars. It was sponsored by the fundraising fundraising committee and all profits will soon be going towards school necessities. Student participation •, has been great. The fund raising committee committee approximately took in ten thousand dollars. There is not an exact figure at this time. The committee has to pay approximately six thousand, thousand, eight hundred dollars for the chocolate bars. Therefore we have approximately approximately three thousand, two hundred dollars. All the above figures are riot up to date. It is an estimate of what we have made. Prizes are being awarded to the people selling. For every six bars that each person sells, he or she gets their name put in a drUrn. The more a person sold, the better chancès for him/her to win. The first prize is a stereo. Second prize is a T.V: Radio and third, fourth and fifth place winners will receive radios. The top seller will receive twenty-five dollars, second place will receive, fifteen fifteen dollars and, the third place seller will receive ten dollars. The top selling homerooms will receive pure Chocolate Santas. To sell the remaining bars, a "Blitz Committee" was formed. Students volunteered to go out in groups and sell chocolate bars. • Everyone enjoyed themselves and were rewarded rewarded to free pizza afterwards. t On behalf of Clarke High, ' I would like to thank you the community ,for your cooperation cooperation during the sales.
