Tamblyn, and Doreen Wood gave the Treasurer's Report. Business was conducted and announcements made. Devotions were given by members of Unit 3.-Isabelle read a poem "When Troubles Come" with Joan Hollingsworth playing background piano music. The front table was centred with the Cross and Bible. Hymn 68, "Near the Cross' was sung by everyone. Betty Wright read Scripture from Luke's Gospel. These readings covered thé period from the Last Supper -Peter's denial - the crucifixion and ' the Resurrection. Devotional theme was "Symbols". Merle Gilbart mentioned several symbols -the flag - the law (which is the scale of justice) - the fish (symbol of the early Christians) Christians) and the cross. The cross is the symbol of sacrifice - great trust and great confidence in us. But it also reveals the evil in men. Isabelle posed the question. "Why did Christians select the cross symbol?" It is central central to Christ's gospel. Hymn 128 was sung. Offering was received and dedicated with prayer. Unit 3 presented a play "The Women around the Cross". This was an imaginary imaginary interview with six women from the New Testament. Testament. Ontario Hydro Television Skews Power Demand Boost Two television shows, "The Winds of War" and "Mash", boosted more than televsion ratings during February. Demand for electricity electricity also surged during the broadcasts. Hydro recorded a power load pickup of 100,000 kilowatts (equal to about 300,000 television sets) when the first of the seven installments installments of "The Winds of War" was aired at 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 5. However, the rest of the week showed no noticeable load pickup during the program's air time. The final episode of "MASH" on Monday, February 28 caused energy demand to increase by 15,000 to 20,000 kilowatts (equal to about 60,000 television sets) when the program-parted at about 8:30 p.m. Throughout the 2'/ 2 -hour episode, there was a pattern of small spurts and drops in energy demaiyl.
