Nelson - Carr Wedding The Reverend Donald Stiles united Rob Nelson and Marie Carr in marriage at the Newcastle United Church on July 30, 1983, Marie's very traditional long white gown and waist length veil contrasted prettily against Rob's formal navy tuxedo. The bride's bouquet was composed of white roses and other white flowers, and the groom's boutinere was a white carnation with a red rose in the centre of it. The Maid of Honour, Faye Jose, and the Bridesmaids, Rina Carr arid Cindy Nelson, all wore long merigot blue gowns. They carried bouquets bouquets composed of a variety of flowers in a white and blue combination. The Best Man, Brad Bugden; the Ushers, Steve Clark and Jim Killoch; and the Ring Bearer, Todd Molnar, all wore navy tux- Brough - Jenkins Wedding Kim Jenkins and Douglas Brough were united in marriage marriage at Newcastle United Church on June 11, 1983 at 4 p.m. Rev. Stiles officiated at the ceremony. The bride is the daughter >f David and Peggy Jenkins, ;,R. 2, Newcastle. The bridegroom is the son o# David and Shirley Brough, R.R. 2, Newcastle. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a traditional traditional gown of chantilly lace with ruffles at neck and cuff. Her juliet cap of pearls was held with a finger tip veil. She carried a bouquet of white orchids, orchids, burgandy roses and a touch of lily of the valley. Mothfer of the bride wore an aberginc coloured gown edos with a white carnation as their boutinere. The mothers also added colour and loveliness to the day. Mrs. Carr wore a mauve print dress with a mauve tinted orchid and Mrs. Nelson wore a pink dress with a pink tinted orchid. The new Mr. and Mrs. Rob Nelson spent their honeymoon honeymoon at the PineStone Inn in Haliburton, and are now living living iri Scarborough. and carried a bouquet of dusty dusty mauve with a touch of white. Bridal attendants were Lauren McDonell, Janice Wood and Cathy Newcombe. «They wore dresses of burgandy burgandy with spaghetti straps and , sheer jackets. Their bouquets were white lace fans with pink roses, lily of the valley and a touch of burgandy. Flower girl was Angela Jenkins. She wore a soft pink dress with small flowers and carried a white basket of burgandy arid pink flowers. Best man and ushers were Jeff Thibodeau, Rhys Jenkins and Rob Brough. Attending the wedding were guests from South Wales, Virginia, London, Toronto, Tweed and Niagara "falls. The reception was held at the Newcastle Town Hall, Newcastle. The bride's going away outfit was a blue pinstrip dress with a bow collar and short sleeves. The ' couple spent their. honeymoon in the Pocono Mountains, Pennslyvania. They are residing at 52 Peter's Pike Road, Orono. SHOWERS Prior to her wedding, Kim was entertained at many showers. February 25th a shower was given by Gillian Stubbs. Sisterk of the groom, Wants to deal with Town The Town of Newcastle has received a letter from Mr. James Major, Orono, requesting requesting a settlement of ownership or title of a remaining remaining portion of Station Street in Orono. Major refers to a promise or commitment made by council members in 1979 whereby council would acquire acquire a fifty foot width where possible for Station Street, part of which was owned by Archie McLaren and James Major. ' ■ Mr, Major points out that a settlement has been concluded concluded with McLaren and that he (Major) could now be hopeful he could have the same in which he states he will sign off his portion if allowed to separate one land allowed to separate one * lot from his, lands and receives the separated parcel. The request has been sent to the Public Works and j Planning departments for considerations. Elizabeth Brough and Cathy Newcombe held a shower for her on April 22nd, A shower was given by her co-workers on May T6'th. On May 26th a shower was given by her sistêr-in-law, Gail Jenkins, and Godmother, Godmother, Edie Hand. A stag was given for the groom by Jeff Thibodeau on the 4th of June.
