This day marks the East Central Central 4-H Champion Calf Show held at Lindsay Central Exhibition. From Durham East the top 4 Beef Showman, Top 4 Dairy Showman and 4-H members who placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th in their calf class at Achievement Day could compete in the East Central Show. Elaine Barkey also placed 2nd with her Senior Holstein Heifer Calf, while John Snowden placed 10th. Brian Goulding had the Champion Dairy Heifer in Breeds other than Holstein Class with his Guernsey Heifer. Sharyn Barkey, Steven McHolm and Jay VanCamp placed reserve in the group of 3 Intermediate Holstein Heifer Class. In Beef Showmanship, Brian Goble placed 8th, and Karen Arnold took 10th place. Brent McLaughlin placed in . the first group of the Junior British Breed Heifers. Andrew Davey, Dan Rowan and Shannon Cornish .. placed 4th, 5th and 6th " respectively in the Senior British Breed Heifer Class. Brian Goble had the Grand Champion Steer for the day, while Ricahrd Avery took 3rd place in the British Breed Steer Class.
