Orono Holiday Juice "B" 0 - Port Hope 6 Here it is December 27th, the day of the Newcastle Tournament and we are in the midst of another snowstorm. Just before face off at 9:00 a.m. I take a quick look at the opposition, just to size them up. Orono was really pushing hard but by the end of the first period we were down by two goals. During the second period we had numerous shots on goal but Port Hope's goalie held them in there. The end of second period saw us down by three more goals. We never gave up, we kept pressing on trying to get our first goal, but that was not to be our fate as Port Hope notched another in the third period. We really put the shots on net, but they had a very good goalie. Thosp tak : ing part in the tournament for Holiday Holiday Juice "B" were - Steven Sargent, David Crozier, Jeff Goodmurphy, Goodmurphy, Bryan Haines, Richard Crozier, Brian Hogenhout, Jonathan Burnham, Sommer West, Simon Weagant, Scott Ransberry, Gordon Wilkinson, Jason Lawrence and Owen Taylor. At 8:13 Millbrook ties it rip, now we must really put the pressure on around the Millbrook net. Millbrook tallies again at 4:18 of the third period, now we are down by two goals. The pace of the game has really picked up as Orono pulls their goalie in favour of six attackers, attackers, but even so, we could not get past their goalie. (I wonder how our mother that has such a hard time containing her excitement made out with the person sitting on her right side.) Orono Holiday Juice "B" 0 - Millbrook II 5 On January 4th, Millbrook II visited Orono for our first league game of the new year. Fate handed Orono another nasty defeat from this visiting team. Some people have different reasons for why you lose. Just to be different here are a few of those reasons. Superstition - you must wear the exact same clothes as you did in the last game you won, if you don't you will lose. You had too much turkey over the holiday season and it slowed you down. It's just an off day. Too many late nights while visiting _ at Grandma's house. Too exhausted exhausted from playing with all the new toys. Well, whatever' the reasons for our losses I feel you will ' come up with a win real soon. Sorry your roving reporter couldn't write up your game, but I was -at Cub Camp and did not see it. .
