1 6-Orono Weekly Times, Wednesday, January 15, 1986 Tennant Fuelers ready for playoffs Saturday In BEWDLEY on January 8 the Orono Tennant Fuel Atoms came from behind to tie the Bewdley Atoms. Bewdley took an early 2-0 lead in the first period while Orono tried to get moving, Stephen Stadelmann scored at 4:04 of the second second period to make it 2-T assisted by Brent Gates and Craig Nemis. Bewdley scored when a loose puck was put into the Orono net at 1:21 of the third period. Orono tried to snap out of their doldrums but it was not until there was 1:22 left to play in the game that they made it 3-2. Cameron Esler scored assisted by Tyler Adey. Orono turned turned on the power and it paid off when Dustin Reid scored assisted by Scott Williams and Cameron Esler, 12 seconds before time ran out. McKnlght said he would like more information as to the relationship relationship of the Mayor's salary to that of councillors (as proposed for 1986 $23,849 compared to $10,221.) It was suggested that staff report on the relationship but no action was taken on the suggestion. Council on a split vote froze the Mayor's salary at the 1985 level of $22,931.75. In dealing with councillors' salary council again split on the issue however councillors will receive the four percent increase as of Janaury 1st and a one percent increase as of July 1, 1986. During the discussions Counc. Harare said Town councillors were by no means underpaid and that the councillor's salaries were at least among the top three in the Region. Counc. She said the liberal government was moving so fast they would need new policy that should come from riding group discussions. The meeting also appointed members to represent the riding at the provincial party's annual meeting being held in Windsor, January 24 to 26th. Those appointed were: Heather Hajikowski, Al Frulong, Francine Newton, Marg Hawthorne, Jim Carlyle, Carol Berney, Bev and Ivan Grose, Bruce Taylor, Shirley Power and John Harness.
