Orono Holiday Juice "B" 5 - Manvers 0 Here it is Saturday, January 18th and time for our weekly trip to the arena for our 2:30 p.m. game, this one against Manvers. Orono is really really looking sharp today, so now lets see what they can do. Manvers took us a bit by surprise as they won the face off, took it into our zone and took a few good shots at goaltender Steven Sargent, but trusty old Steve stopped them for us. At 6:51 of the first we opened the scoring with Jeff Goodmurphy on a pass from Richard Crozier. Orono went ahead by two at 3:56 on a goal by Sommer West assisted by David Crozier and Jeff Goodmurphy. The Manvers goalie had quite a bit of work to do, but it wasn't until the 6:04 mark of the second that Orono hit again, this one by David Crozier on a pass from Sommer West and Jason Lawrence. Our next goal was at 9:40 of the third period by David Crozier unassisted. Jeff Goodmurphy Goodmurphy notched one at 4:01 on a pass from Richard and David Crozier. At the 1:29 mark our goaltender Steven Sargent received a tripping penalty (that stick is a wee tad big isn't it Steven) so our last goal was a shorthanded one by David Crozier assisted by Jeff Goodmurphy with just 47 seconds left in the game. Congratulations on another hat trick David. Special mention to - Brian Hogenhout, Simon Weagant, Gordon Wilkinson, Jonathan Burnham, Burnham, Bryan Haines and Scott Ransberry for a super game. Good game team! David with his five point game and Jeff with his four- pointer had better be awfully cautious because I imagine the 'Leafs may be looking for some new talent soon, but you fellas would > like to stay with a winner, wouldn't , you? as both teams took (urns making end to end rushes resulting in many good scoring chances. Goaltending was excellent at both ends of the rink especially a sparkling^ glove hand save by Scott Hall in the dying moments of the game. The Commodores Commodores • scored first at the 7:41 mark of the first period when Chris Yeo broke in alone on a pass from Jason Mercer while Shane Jones got the other assist.
