School Board rejects wine, beer sales plan The Northumberland and Newcastle Board , of Education voted overwhelmingly recently to officially register its disapproval with Queen's Park over the proposed proposed legislation to permit the sale of wine and beer in corner stores. The decision of the board puts them in line with the Ontario School Trustees' Countil letter to the Liberal government in Toronto asking that such sales not be permitted permitted through provincial legislation. Shirley Robson of Darlington put forth the motion stating that it would be very hard to control the spread of alcohol to minors. She said it was not going to*get any better better when it became more convient in the corner stores.
