Representatives were present from the recently formed Tyrone group and the Starkville group along with a small round-table group which has been meeting at Elva Reid's, R.R. 1 Kendal. Kendal. In speaking with Elva Reid she said a further meeting will be held on Wednesday evening in Newcastle Village and that contact has been made with an group from Hope Township. She said the Wednesday night meeting has been proposed to effect an overall committee system whereby more people can become involved in the opposition to the Eldorado proposal. She said the committees would represent- many phases in i. e objection including financing, fund raising, Canvassing and media»relations. ; . 1 Reid said the effort now was to amalgamate for greater effort and to give all people the opportunity to work against the proposal As to the group that has been meeting for the past week and a half at her home she said it was a small round table action group which had already placed advertising in newspapers and was providing posters of the advertisement. The group has also provided a coupon in which they have asked citizens to sign objecting to the possible establishment of a waste site in the area. They have been seeking financial financial support for opposing the proposal. proposal. It was pointed out that the small action group had meet with the purpose purpose of coming up with something constructive and did have representation representation from all of the municipality. Reid said ads would continue and that a float will appear in the Orono Fair parade as well as a booth at the fair. She said the booth will be manned manned by people from all areas and all groups. According to Reid an enormous number of people are disturbed over the possibility ot a low r level waste site and that there had been, a good response to their coupons published last week in local newspapers.
