Juice Novice "B" played host to the league entry from Millbrook on Saturday, November 8th. The Orono team is sure off to" a good start this season with four wins in four games. We must be getting our inspiration /from those 8:15 Sunday morning practices. The Juicers hit the. Scoreboard very early in the game when Bryan Haines put one in assisted by Jeff Gates and Ryan Winning at 8:47 of the first. The rest of the period remained remained scoreless. At 7:22 of the second second Bryan Haines slid another one in this time assisted by Jeff Gates, and Amanda Haines (Sal ???). In an attempt at a comeback, Millbrook put one past our hard working goaltender Steven Sargent at 4:23. The visitors took a tripping penalty at 9:06 of the third but Orono could not capitalize nn this opportunity due to Millbrook's excellent defensive efforts. While Orono Pee Wees take wins from Oshawa teams Orono Matthews and Associates D.M.H.A. Peewees rebounded from early season doldrums to trim :wo Oshawa L.N.H.L. teams this week. In the first game on November Jrd the team overcame some needless penalties to edge Oshawa Black Hawks 5-3 with two unanswered third period tallies. Orono had jumped into a 3-0 lead an goals by Jeff Hart wig, David Sheridan and Tyler Gibson with assists to Craig Nemis, Scott McAllister, Tyler and David. However, the Orono players once again learned the value of consistent consistent hard work as they coughed up three goals with shoddy passing and poor puck clearing in their own end. Nevertheless, the team regrouped and redeemed itself with Tyler Gibson's two goals, one a lovely shot from inside the blueline which caught the Oshawa goalie flat-footed. Coach Hart wig and assistants Sheridan and Reid must be congratulated on restoring Orono's composure without the assistance of the "old master", Coach Major, who was deer (dear) hunting. "Doc" Reid took centre spot behind the bench for Saturday's tussle with Les Canadiens de Oshawa and he must have injected . some defensive serum into the boys. I Orono won easily 5-1 on a total team effort with! full marks going to defencemen, Andy Taylor, Craig Nemis, Jim Partner, Brand Minnis, and Jason Major. The Oshawa boys were "moto-vated" clearly from in front of our net, and our forwards kept them spinning their "G.M. wheels" in their own end with diligent forechecking. The first goal came from "Mr. Hustle", David Sheridan, who picked up a clearing pass from Brad Minnis, swooped in and fired a hard shot by a startled Oshavw goalie. Jeff Hartwig then shovelled - one'in from a face-off with centre Dustin Reid picking up a well- earned assist. Oshawa picked up an unassisted goal while penalty-killing and this shock must have reminded our lads'of Monday night's comeback. comeback. This time they made sure the game Was in the bag by hammering in three unanswered goals - Dustin Reid connected from Cameron Esler and Jeff Hartwig, and David Sheridan chipped one over a prone goalie on a perfect pass from Tyler Gibson. Dustin finished the scoring on a deflection of Jim Partner's cannonading drive from the blueline. The Orono boys could be confident because Shawn Hardy was back in top form between the pipes. Let'S see more quick passes, fellows, and as long as you keep your- sticks on the ice, your butts close to the ice and your heads up, then BEWDLEY BETTER BEWARE. fC~ season when he got a break away.
