Doll Show and Sale big suc cess The Antique Doll Show and Sale at Orono Showcase on Saturday and Sunday was an outstanding exhibit exhibit with over three hundred dolls on exhibit from local collectors and from Bertha (Mom) White of Nelson, British Columbia. Mrs. White had the largest exhibit in the Orono show taking up almost twenty-five percent of the space in the upper room of the Showcase. The room was completely filled with the exhibits. Bertha (Mom) White was formerly formerly of Maple Grove, east of Bowman ville, and| was known for her bid to operate! a licenced home for children from broken homes. Not being able to get a provincial licence Mrs. White and her husband moved to British Columbia for the same intent but again being denied a provincial licence: to operate such an endeavour. Sometimes the students come to her room for help and sometimes Mrs. Yeo goes into their classrooms to help them there. Mrs. Yeo helps students who have been identified as needing help beyond that which the regular classroom teacher can give. She works with students from all grades. She is at Orono Monday to Thursday mornings. Mrs. Allin's class is learning to read Nursery Rhymes. They'll soon be talking about families and each student is supposed to bring in a picture of when they were little. Mrs. Brown and her class are enjoying enjoying their new classroom. We are learning to use good manners in Mrs. Brown's class. Every Wednesday, Wednesday, Mrs. Brown has art. They have lots of space to put up their pictures. pictures. There are many exciting activities to do. When they have finished they will be able to put words and names in alphabetical order.
