Peterson was responding to a question raised that Ontario Hydro has undertaken discussions about the military use of tritium from the recovery facilitity currently being constructed at the Darlington Generating station in the Town of Newcastle. The $120 million recovery facility is expected to recover two and a half kilograms a year from tritiated water from Darlington and Pickering Pickering and later from other Nuclear Generating Stations operated by Hydro. Department wants $2 million for facilities The Oshawa Community Services Department is looking for almost $2 million for new and improved facilities. The request is up more than 36 percent over that of last year.
