6-Orono Weekly Times, Wednesday, March 4, 1987 -SCRIME STOPPERS A re-enactment for Crime Stoppers of a break, enter and theft at Armstrong's IGA, December 15 th. Orono break-in and theft re-enactment on television Crime Stoppers and the Durham Regional Police are asking for the public's assistance in solving a Break, Enter and Theft which occurred at Armstrong's IGA in Orono on December 15th last year. At about 3:20 a.m. Police responded responded to the alarm and found that the store had been broken into and the safe was missing. ,,, A search of the area revealed an axe handle and the handle from the front of the safe at Sawicki's Garage in Orono. The safe itself, minus a large amount of acsh was found in the parking lot on the west side of the Wilntot Creek at the 4th concession. This is the second similar oc- curance within the last year. A re-enactment of this crime will be shown on City TV on Thursday, March 19 at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. It will also be shown on CHEX and CKVR on March 20th. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons for this offence. Anyone with any information information regarding this crime, no matter matter how insignificant, is asked to call. Callers do not have to give their names or appear in court.
