As of 1987, some students from Ontario high schools are eligible to attend university university after four years of secondary school. This situation has caused the applications to universities to increase considerably, and they will continue to rise until the "bulge" created by the new high school system disappears. The result is a problem of accessibility: some students who are qualified for university will not be able to attend because of insufficient places. Trent,University has always been 1 concerned with accessibility, and is determined to deal with this problem problem immediately. Accordingly, the . University has decided to expand its off-campus program at the Durham College C^pipus. A record number of courses will be offered in the fall session, including a dozen at the introductory introductory level, and Trent, will thus be able to accept up to fifty percent more applicants into its Oshawa program. Trent recognizes that meeting the needs of part-time students is an important important element of making university university education accessible. Bagged pet feeds are also available in the Shur- Gain lines. the Oshawa program will allow Trent to open its doors to an important important séctor of today's student population, those individuals who wish to pursue their studies on" a part-time basis. Morever, Trent's expansion in Oshawa will enable the University to meet another of its goals, that of service to the Oshawa community. The off-campus program program at Durham College is conveniently conveniently situated for area residents, and over the years, the course offerings offerings have gradually increased as more people have taken advantage of the program's proximity.
