Missing Man Found Dead At Garden Hill The body of a missing Port Hope man, Ronald Leon Hatherly, 52 was found in the Garden Hill Conservation Conservation Area last Wednesday. Police do not suspect foul play. The man had been reported missing on Monday. Consider New Canteen At Ball Park Hope Township Council are considering considering the construction of a new canteen at the Alex Carruther Community Community Park in Garden Hill. The existing canteen has been reported in poor shape. It travelled over a rail line which was built in the 1850's. The line was one of the first to be chartered in Upper Canada and was to serve the community north of Lake Ontario and provide contact with shipping at the lakefront. > Fort Hope joins hospital lottery Port Hone and District Hospital has joined with five other hospitals in a hospital lottery. In joining the Petnorvic , Hospitals Lottery Port Hope hopes to have funds for medical equip- ' ment for their hospital. The Petnorvic lottery has operated for six yedfs and has been sponsored by two .Peterborough hospitals. The lottery has generated more than $600,000 for specialized medical equipment. Port Hope now joins with fhe two Peterborough Hospitals, the Cnhnurg, Lindsay and Camp- Deiiioiu hospitals in the scheme. Turns sod for new Hope municipal office The sod has been turried for a new Hope Township municipal office office which is estimated to cos't $350,000. The new building will be 1 located centrally within the community community at the fifth concession on County Road 10, just north of Canton. Canton. Victoria Hall, Cobourg, to be restored The job of restoration of Victoria Hall in Cobourg is expected to start • within two weeks. The hall has been purchased 'by a Brockville developer, Wachfree Construction. The building is to be restored to. its original state both inside and out.
