This year the conference will be held on May 17th at Durham College and Clarke is able to send 19 grade 10 girls. Clarke High School News report Clarke Students off to College by Janet Crowther Many colleges have begun sending sending out their acceptances to students for school beginning in September and a number of senior students at Clarke are eagerly awaiting word from the colleges they applied to. Because Clarke doesn't have ordinary students, then goals for the future are not ordinary ordinary either. To give you a few examples: -Tim Harrison has chosen to attend Mount Allison University in New Brunswick. Tim hopes to become a High School History teacher and has chosen to attend Mount Allison because they have show-n an interest in his wrestling ability. -Charlene Tennant will be attending Sir Sanford Fleming in Peterborough Peterborough for their Law and Administration Administration courses. She would like to become a police officer specializing in dog-handling. -Scott McCullough has shown an interest in electricity and would like to specialize in Industrial Electronics. Electronics. He is considering attending Durham College but has applied for an apprenticeship at an Oshawa Plant and is now waiting for news concerning that position. -Randy Cowan has plans to attend the Radio and Television Broadcasting Broadcasting Program at Centennial College College located in Toronto. Randy would like to become a disc jockey in the future and has gained experience experience through co-op at CKAR radio station and his business, "Music by Randv." Happenings Around Clarke High On May 4th Clarke High School will be hosting a Trades Day, during during which any student who previously signed up in the guidance office may attend. Trades Day will take place in the Clarke Library for the duration of the morning. Mr. Bob Willsher, trustee for Northumberland/Newcastle Northumberland/Newcastle Board of Education, will-start the day off with opening remarks. This will be Clarke Township.
