Kathyrn is picturerd above with her two children, Caylie and Aja. Irç accepting the prize,$150.00 in Orono D.B.I.A. Bucks, the winner said it was better than cash. It had to be spent in Downtown Orono where one received value for their dollars. Second prize of $50.00 in D.B.I.A. Bucks went to Marie West and third prize, $25.00 in D.B.I.A. Bucks, to Marlene Ross, of R.R. 2 Newcastle. by .land Crowther Clarke High School recently held a 3 day Arm-wrestling Competition. Competition. This took place over the lunch hour with many participants as well as spectators. The female Middleweight Middleweight Champion was Julie McCar- ron and the Heavy-weight Champion Champion was Anndee VanDoleweerd. The male winners were Steven Thompson, Lightweight; Todd Yarrow, Light-heavy; Eric Jensen, Middle-weight and Kerry Hester, Heavy-weight. Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to everyone for all the support. Rugby season has come again and Clarke is sporting both a junior and senior team this year. Their coach, John Skovsguard, says that "Clarke has a good group of hard hitting, enthusiastic, young boys." He also added that their next home game will be on May 12th starting at approximately 2:00 p.m., so why not come out and cheer them on! On Thursday, May 5th Clarke sent a track & field team to the south Kawartha Meet at Cobourg East. Everyone did well but one competitor who did extremely well was Jacki VanDoleweerd. Jacki obtained obtained 4 first and broke 3 records. She threw 11186 metres in shot V 34 metres in javelin and jumpfcy' .1.70 metres in high jump. Qualifiers at South Kawartha will go on to the Kawartha Track & field Meet at Trent University in Peterborough on May 12th. Orono-Lockhart School News Orono Campus On Tuesday, April 26 the Dairy Princess came to the Grades 4 to 6 to give a presentation on cows and how they produce the milk. She gave out booklets and milk pencils. She gave a good speech. Pod C Night is May 19. The grades 4, 5 and 6's are getting together to perform a play about Ontario. It will include songs, dances and short skits. Miss Samuel's class is performing too. We hope you'll all be there. The letter states that Canada Post is aware of the need for counter services services but at the present time there is only one commercial outlet which could provide the services. It is pointed out that the FoodsWorth store is providing the-operation of a stamp agency but as yet has not agreed to the operation of a Retail Postal Outlet.
