Port Hope being sued for $1.2 million The Town of Port Hope is being sued for $1.2 million by a former chief building official, Brad Bradamore, contending he was wrongfully dismissed. Bradamore has also charged five town officials with intefering with the duties of a building official. Big Sister plan new student residence The Big Sister of Newcastle- Oshawa- Whilby hope to open a full-lime residence tor students in need of housing. The accommodation accommodation is expected to be open this fall. A tennis court and a second set of , washrooms are to be completed this year. The park has two ball diamonds, one with lights, a soccer pitch, a , canteen and a children's play area and equipment. It also houses the library and fire hall. It is the work of volunteers and support from Hope council and the province. Cabinet Making Program for Women An introductory cabinet making program for Women is being offered offered at Durham College's Ajax location, 682 Monarch Avenue beginning September 12. In addition to hands-on cabinet making shop training, the course will provide mathematics upgrading and communications. Students will have the opportunity to practice their skills through work placement in industry. The program is made available through Canadian Job Strategies, and eligible students will receive a training allowance, and day care subsidy if required. .
