First Payments to Lamb Producers: Lamb producers will be receiving their first "payment under the Rational Rational Tripartite Price Stabilization Program. A total of about $200,000 is being paid to 6J0 producers in, five provinces. The payment was announced today today by the National Stabilization Committee of producers and representatives from the federal and five provincial governments. by John Finlay Tripartite agreements have been signed between the federal and provincial provincial governments in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Prince Edward Edward Island and Nova Scotia. All participating producers, in thtse provinces are eligible for a payment of $6.83 per lamb sold in the third quarter of the production year, June 1 to August 31. A stabilization payment is triggered triggered when the market price, drops below the support price. The support support price is thé price guaranteed to producers under the tripartite agreement. 1 The national average weighted lamb price in the third quàrter dropped below the support price of $86.59 per hundred weight to $79.75 per hundred weight, trigger ing the $6.83.a head payment.
