4-Orono Weekly Times, Wednesday, November 9, 1988 SPORTS Orono OMHA Novice squeak thru with win Orono faced Omemee for the first time last Friday coming up with a 3-2 win. Orono boys played the first 2 Vi periods in a fog, with little passing and very little positional positional hockey. Omemee opened the scoring in the 1st period with 2 goals. Second goal was very questional going off the cross-bar. Orono fans felt there was no goal, but the official's decision decision was different. Omemee had two players whose talents seemed to frustrate our boys and made them forget their hockey basks. With 5 minutes left in the third period Orono came alive, scoring three goals, scored by the MacDonald MacDonald brothers, with one assist going going to Brett Maartense. The Orono boys must pull , together as a team as they will meet stronger teams in the future. The team was missing Ryan Winning who was down with the flu, we hope he is feeling better and will be back with the team for our next game. • We also would like to welcome Danny Buttigieg back on the team once more. Our next game is Friday, Friday, November 11th at 7:15 against Ajax in Orono. In their second game, the Tykes lost a real nail biter at home this past Saturday to the Newcastle. Tykes. The final score was 4-3. In the first period the teams felt. each other out.
