They saw 'Kidnapped', a very entertaining show. It lasted from one o'clock to three o'clock. Just George Yesterday I was cold and miserable (as usual). When I picked up my mail in the village, after driving driving through the snow flurries, when suddenly a ray of sunshine lit up, not only my day, but Lynnes as well. A letter from a school chum that we haven't seen for over fifty years. It is said that "old soldiers never die," and by the same token, friends from our youth remain forever young, in our memories. . 1 suddenly saw myself in short pants, with a school cap on the back of my head, in company with the usual half dozen kids, who were always together, learning how to grow up in a London suburb, little knowing that in a few short years their world was going to crumble in- ■ to a madness they couldn't imagine. Reading that letter was like a breath of fresh air, as memories flooded back, even the nick names 1 hadn't heard in half a century, places places I had forgotten even existed, a lifestyle that was so wonderful (to us), but has now gone forever, but the memories linger on. She (her name is Sheila) apparently apparently met Lynne's sister, quite by accident in England and having learned that Irene (Lynne's sister) had been over here several times got our address and wrote the letter, that made Lynne and I feel like kids again. Both of us are so thankful that one of the very few links with the past, that still exist, have taken us back briefly to our childhood days, (that are so very necessary) and the lesson here is one of great importance, importance, never forget those days for they are the happiest time of your life. Herewith the voice of experience?!! experience?!! Just George and did. For the girls it was the Panthers with 108 points. Tamara Kent played hard lor her team but didn't pull up and win. After the show they stopped off at Nathan Phillips Square to skate for an hour or so. They left The Pines at 9:00 a.m. and returned around 6:00 p.m. Semester Change - Another event which just happened is the semester change. The only subjects the students will be changing are shop, family studies, history and geography. Bridges - Yesterday, at Clarke High School, there was an outstanding outstanding slide show. This terrific show is called, 'Bridges'. It was trying to tell us to not build a wall around us, but to make bridges to other people. people. It was a serious slide show, but it was funny enough to make the 'cool' kids interested. Mme. Brunt , said it was educational and great. This slide show is something The Pines will never forget. Bake Sale - On February 8th, 8A had a bake sale. The sellers were Jeremy Blackburn, Danny Winters, Donna Rodgers & Angela Coe. The . money they raised will go towards their trip ■ to the Planetarium in Toronto. They will be going on March 7th.
