It has- been suggested that the Canadian national bird, the Canada Goose, may be eating its way out of favour especially in southern Ontario Ontario along the lakes. The population of the bird in this particular area is estimated to be doubling every three years. John Finlay, Durham East agricultural representative, said it is difficult to estimate what damage can be attributed solely to geese. Hunters are now allowed a daily bag limit of five birds during the hunting season from September 24 to Daceember 31st and from January 16th to the 21st. This may be reduced this year.
