For the past three weeks, two in particular visitors to Newtonville have been enjoying our hot, dry climate to the hilt... Arriving from just outside of Belfast, Northern Ireland on July 7, Noeleen and Emma Turkington soon settled in on their vacation with Noeleen's sister Denise, and brother-in-law Rob of Newtonville. It was a snetial reunion of sorts for the sisters. Rob and Denise were married this past January in Ireland. Rob brought his bride back home adding another romantic chapter to their courtship...to the delight of family and friends on both sides of the Atlantic. Emma had been excited for weeks, anxious to make her first visit to Canada and to sec her "Aunt Neenie" finally after six months. Rob and Denise have been marvellous, super tour guides apd socialites in honour of their special guests. And about they went...from Wonderland to Marineland, Metro ' Zoo to shopping malls, local beaches and more. All in all, making making some pretty wonderful memories. Noeleen reports after chatting with hubby back home.. "The weather home is unusually hot. Temperatures are reaching the 90 degree mark. I love it though, it is super for holidays. We both are having a great time. Emma has màde friends, seen alot of new things, tried Canadian pizza and more, as well as adopting a wee kitten kitten for her aunt and uncle!" Noeleen and Emma leave tomorrow for home. Talking with Noeleen was like getting together with an old friend, f6r me. Emma was our own personal delight. Seeing Seeing (and listening to her accent) this wonderfully outgoing and cheerful young lady, with her smiling Irish eyes and blushing plump cheeks was just plain terrific. While there, over 100,000 litres of oil were treated to remove the PCB content. To date, across the province, 487,000 litres of oil containing PCBs hae been decontaminated by the mobile unit's process. This .volume is expected to double by year end.
