Marg West Many times in the word of God, Jesus is referred to as the Rock. Webster defines rock as "a firm support." Isn't it nice to know that Jesus is our firm support. He's the one who's holding us up. He's also the Rock of our salvation, salvation, Psalm 95:1, "O come let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation:" He's the firm support of our salvation. Psalm 18:2 says, "The Lord is my Rock, my fortress, and my deliverer. My God, my strength in whom I will trust, my buckler and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower." Again in this verse we see that Jesus is our Rock, but not only that He's our fortress, when we are in trouble we can hide ourselves in Him (His Word) and when we get into His word and seek His face He delivers us out of all our troubles, because He's also our deliverer. He's our strength, just as we need food to maintain our body strength, we also need spiritual food (God's Word) to maintain our Spirit and to keep it healthy. Actually it's our Spirit that keeps our body in whatever state it is. Matthew 7:24, tells us "Jesus considers whoever hears His words and does them to be wise, because we are building our house on the solid Rock the One that does not fail." The house He is talking about is our spiritual being. Those that build their house (spiritual) on any other foundation foundation (all religions not recognizing recognizing Jesus as the Son of God and the only way to salvation) Jesus considers to be foolish and He tells us in Matthew 7:27, "that the house cannot stand against the trails of life and it falls." Consider today Jesus the Rock of My Salvation to become the Rock of your salvation, salvation, and when the trails of life come your way you will have , THE ROCK as your foundation and you will not fall, but prevail in every circumstance that faces Northern Fire Station a t $371,000 The Town of Newcastle council on Monday gave their approval of a preliminary plan for the northern fire station having an estimated cost of $371,000 for the building, water supply, parking and driveway and other contingencies.
