Further details available by calling calling 668-772L All Female Technology Course Debuts at Port Hope High School This pilot course is for girls only and there is a good reason, according according to Port Hop6 High School Principal Joe Hubbard who was concerned about the small number of females signing up for technology courses at the high school, even though all of them had studied industrial arts at the elementary level. A School Within A School Port Hope High School has also created an innovative school within a school (SWlS). "The main objective objective of the program is to give students a fresh.start when they run into course difficulties for various reasons," said Principal Joe Hubbard, Hubbard, who also sees it as an important important way to Help students stay in school rather than drop out. Students study independently, using correspondence courses from the Ministry of Education. About 30 students have* signed up for the program, program, according to Kevin Eves, a Guidance Counsellor at the school who is co-ordinating the program.
