Raising funds for hospital A special committee of Memorial Hospital held a fund raising event last Friday evening at the Lions Centre in Bowmanville with some 160 enjoying an evening of dining, an auction, followed by dancing. Some $10,000 was raised which will be used to purchase equipment for the hospital. The evening was co-ordinated by Anna Strike and Arnot Wotten conducted the auction for paintings, paintings, and many other items including including two 50 lbs. cartons of steak donated by Armstrongs IGA. Bidding Bidding was brisk. The special committee held a similar event last year which provided provided funds for equipment at the local hospital.
