Student progress and marks were discussed on a one- to-one basis between the parent and teacher. Mid-term report cards will be issued on November 23. The students of Clarke High School are fortunate in having the collection and facilities of the Library Resource Centre available to support their efforts in becoming independent learners. The Northumberland _ and Newcastle Board of Education is on the leading edge of library technology and the library at Clarke High School has always had the good fortune to pilot this technology. Over the course of the last few years, it has been possible to bring technology to the fore in our attempts attempts to better serve our students. Our new Computer Catalogue has enabled students and staff to quickly quickly and easily access material required required for class assignments, essays, and reports. The Library has also acquired a CD ROM reader and several "electronic" reference works. In addition to providing recent recent information in an easily accessed accessed format, this technology has made it possible for the students at Clarke High School to enter the modern information age. We at Clarke High School are very proud of our Library facilities and program. We believe that, in a school such as Clarke, the Library , plays an essential role in the life of the students due to the rural nature of the community. Bearing this, as well as the educational nature of libraries, in mind, we have always attempted to provide reading, study, reference and audio-visual material for student use.
