As for the Lighting of Christmas the store lights will be lit with the children carolling on the Town Hall steps, starting at 6:30 p.m. Further the downtown merchants will be offering a 10 percent reduction reduction on most items in their stores for the evening from 6 to 9 p.m. The Great Pine Ridge Kinsmen will be selling hot dogs and freshly pressed cider on the street for all to enjoy. (Continued page 3) Kendal man killed in accident north of Orono A Kendal' man, a student at Clarke High School, was killed iri a two car collision at the intersection of the 7th Concession and Leskard Road on Saturday evening. Both vehicles slid over a 25 foot embankment'at embankment'at the intersection. Dead is Ken Davies, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Davies of Kendal and a grade 13 student at Clarke High School. The driver in which Davies was a passenger was Brandon Coyle, 16, Newcastle and a grade 11 student at Clarke, along with Mike Tait, 19, also of Newas- tle and a grade 13 student at Clarke. Coyle and Tait were treated and released at the Oshawa General Hospital. The driver of the other car Dean Marchant, 20, of Bowmanville was also not seriously injured in the accident. accident.
