Pines Senior Public News Report The United Way campaign has been in full swing this week at The Pines. The Fun Fair was held in the lunch hour of Tuesday, November 28. It consisted of many games such as the penny toss, hockey shot, toothpick pickup, beanbag toss, basketball shoot, miniature golf and a candle squirting contest. Orono Co-op, Orono LG.A.;, Not Just Fashions, Mom's Kitchen, Newcastle LG.A. and Can expect no more than 5% waste reduction by recycling Art Leitch, operations director of waste management for Durham told council that recycling would not take the Region to 25 percent reduction in waste by 1993. He said the blue box residential program takes only about five percent of garbage garbage from the waste stream. Leitch calls for a central organic composting program for 1990. The Region is also to consider diversion from waste at the commercial- industrial level. Last week the Region cut back on a number of planned projects for 1990 including a pilot project involving involving blue boxes for apartments, as well as a mixed paper collection and a pilot mixed rigid plastic collection collection in Whitby. Twenty-four years,, but I only worked for fourteen ÿears. Q. How many schools have you been a secretary for? A. Five schools. Q. When did you first start to work as a secretary? A. When I finished High School. Q. Did you ever have a different job before a secretary? A. No. Q. What is your favourite type of music? A. Easy listening, Country and a little little bit of Rock 'n Roll. Q. What is your hobby? A. Reading. Q. How is it different being a secretary in an elementary school than the high school? A. The children are younger, in high school you do one job, but in elementary you have to do all the jobs, and also I give out alot more bandagesThan I do in high school. Q. Do you get off at holidays? A. Yes, I get off at Christmas and March break. This is very exciting fos me. Q. Did you ever have any vacations off when you worked in high school? A. Yes, summer vacation, but that only lasted 3 weeks.
