Saturday at the Heather Rebekah Once again a great success of this Just George . . . The last time I talked to you, 1 complained about the rain. Today 1 could even get more vocal, because it's snowing. However my good wife (as usual) gently, in her most raucus voice tells me to control the impulse. (The voice of experience!?) So be it although we are only just into December, I feel Christmas in the air, the decorations decorations and the carols "Down Town", make it so pleasant, and already some houses have their outside outside lights and decorations installed, installed, making the afore-mentioned snow look really seasonal. Naturally Naturally I'm talking about my next door neighbours, and my own display. However I take no credit for this, for I am not encouraged to "poke my nose" into what Lynne believes to be strictly her.province , and per sonally I'm just as happy to let her imagination take charge. 1 think she has done an admiral job (How's that for Diplomacy?!!) I'm usually about as imaginative, or creative as a dead fly - now here endeth the lesson!! Changing know to a more important important subject, the problem of the postal service still bothers me somewhat. I hear of post offices being closed in outlying villages, and there is a possibility that it could happen here. Already we can apparently buy stamps in one (at least) of our local stores. - What next? Is this the thin edge of the wedge? At present, with no concrete concrete facts to back up my suspicions I leave it up to you to form you're own conclusions, (painful though they may be:) However I was recently given a small card, which states, "Mail Early for Christmas - while you still have a post office." Draw your own conclusions, but remember, it's a long way to drive to Newcastle or Bowmanville for mail such as monthly cheques etc., (that may not even be there anyway!!?) - think about it, I learned recently that our friendly friendly and knowledgeable neighbour Jim Stutt is "under the weather.'* I for one, miss him, and wish him a speedy recovery. And so for now, I leave you with this thought, - "The past is gone, you can't change it, so look to the future and make it worthwhile. As always Just George.
