During the past two months, over thirty students at Newtonville Public School accepted a "creativity challenge" submitting a wide range of design entries for a new crest for oùr school. Since the beginning of this school year when Newtonvlle and Newcastle Public Schools were de-twinned, school spirit has been on the rise here. After reviewing all submissions for a school symbol, Principal David Gray and staff finally chose the crest design of Grade 6 team Derek Arnold and Corey Brobbel. In November at the Eastern On- , tario Sectionals, Orono was represented by Briar Ransberry, Tanya Clemens, Melissa Allin and Tracy Eames. All of the girls skated well. Tracy Eames went to the finals in the Pre-Novice Ladies A category placing third overall. On December 9 and 10 in Lindsay, Lindsay, the Scugog Frolics competition was held. From Orono attending the competition were Katie Colville, Cindy Ross, Melonie Allin and Anthea Anthea Peacock. Little Scoops...
