Perhaps the highlight of the convention convention was the announcement, of the isolation of the CF gene. .This discovery is being hailed as one of the biggest break throughs in the history of genetics. The driving force behind this discovery is the medical research team from Sick Children's Hospital in Toronto. This labratory is supported a nart by Kinsmen and Kinetics. Mil .is of our , fundraising dollars have gone into this discovery but much more is still needed to find the cure for cystic fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis, which affects the lungs and digestive system and w'eakens the body's immune system, is known as the most common common incurable genetic disease of children. It affects approximately one in every 1800 children born in Canada. Until the exact cause of ÇF is known, a cure or control is not possible. The Kinsmen and Kinetics of the Great Pine Ridge ask you to rejoice with us at the milestone achieved this year in CF research. We thank you for your support in the past and request your continued support in out future endeavours. We, along with our fellow Kin across Canada, are committed to support CF research until the elusive cure is found.
