GRCA invites you to a moonlit walk The Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority invites you to venture out for a moonlit walk in the Ganaraska Forest . on Saturday, February 26, from 7 to 9 p.m., to discover the intriguing world of owls . Participants will be looking looking for a glimpse of saw-whet, barred and great-horned owls during one of the Ganaraska Forest Centre's most popular public programs programs of the season, the third annual Owl Prowl. The evening begins with a slide show about these nocturnal creatures. Then participants Eire taken on a guided hike in the forest to hear, and even see, owls in their natural natural habitat. Both TM Martin and TM Bizi won the trophies for Best Evaluator and Best Speaker respectively. We are pleased to welcome Richard Gagnon to our club. IT PAYS TO ADVERTISE 983-5301 BowmanviUe Toastmasters Home invasion A 78-year-old BowmanviUe woman. was attacked and threatened at knifepoint after four males broke into a Liberty Street North residence on Sunday morning. Around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday February 20th, 2000, the victim was awakened awakened by the sound, of her door being smashed open. Four males rushed into the residence and threatened the elderly woman with bodily harm. The victim was then bound, hands and feet, and terrorized at knifepoint. knifepoint. The suspects stole a quantity of cash and the victim's- television. Before fleeing, the suspects damaged damaged the telephone in the house, rendering it inoperable. inoperable. The woman managed to free herself around 3:30 a.m., but fearing to leave hër residence, waited until 5:30 a.m., before making her way to a neighbour's house and calling police. The victim suffered minor abrasions to her wrists from being bound, but did not require medical assistance. Ail four male suspects were wearing balaclavas and gloves, and two of them, were wearing black, pants with white stripes, down the sides. No further descriptions are available. Police would like to speak to the driver of a white car that was seen in the victim's driveway about 11:40 p.m. on Saturday February 19th, 2000. It is not known if this vehicle was related to the attack.
