Chemistry is often sited as the main ingredient that ^rings talented athletes together. But, community support is also very- important and often overlooked. The Oronb Lumber Midgets had an excellent home ■record. The clean modern facility many people in town take great pride ip, also gives the players a feeling of pride when they come to the rink. Many times the players have sung praises of their home ice which has been skillfully prepared and maintained by Pete Maartense and his crew. Let's not forget the new, larger dressing rooms built under the direction of Ray Bester and a ton of community community support. • ;. Fans. What else has to be said? Standing room only. Colourful banners. Noise. Music. People coming up to you on the street with words of encouragement. One fan used to race to the mail box whilè in Florida just to follow the team! And, has any other team had limos deliver fans to the other team's arena? , On Monday, April 10th, thanks to the generosity of Glen and Ann Flogle of 'Hourglass Distributors', chauffeur chauffeur driven limousines took the team in style to be honoured honoured by Mayor Diane Ham re and Clarington council which is just another example of how the, community rallied rallied around this team. !
