Eager Readers Club The Eager Readers Club is for children in gradess 1 to 3 (inclusive) who have learned the fundamentals of reading but need some practice during during the summer, Each-reader Each-reader is paired with a student volunteer for one-on-one Since my first letter re: the two dead robins in the box of my son's pick-up truck I have had calls from two very knowledgeable bird people, Jim Richards of Orono and Dennis Barry of Whitby; Both agreed that because birds in breeding season are so aggressive, that these robins seeking their images in the rear window of the truck, attacked these images and as a result broke their necks on contact with the glass. This theory I think is borne out by the peculiar habit of a pair of bluebirds that have nested at our home for the last two years. Both male and female flutter very aggressively at the side mirrors mirrors on my van and then light on the top of the mirrors and whitewash the glass. Anytime you see my van you can sèe for yourself the results of this behaviour. Wild life behaviour is very fascinating and you can always learn something new by watching the birds and animals.
