June 10 will offer answers to common questions about private pond management issues such as Nutrient, sediment and aquatic plant control, Shoreline vegetation considerations, Monitoring water quality, Fish and wildlife and Design basics. Landowners and those who are interested in learning more about private pond management are invited to attend an educational workshop on Saturday June 10, 2000. Thé workshop will include presentations and displays on a variety of topics ranging from the ecology of ponds and wetlands to the management of water quality and nutiient problems. Regulations , restoration and design aspects of ponds will also be covered The workshop will take place at the Greenwood Community Centre between 9:30 a,m, and 3:00 p.m. There is a $5 charge for the workshop, but lunch and refreshments will be provided. The Greenwood Community Centre is located at 3535 Greenwood Rd., west of ' Westney Rd. and south of the 6th Concession through Greenwood. The workshop is being hosted by the Durham Land Stewardship Council in cooperation with' the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation Authorities and private consultants.
