While skating / out of the Orono Figure Skating Club, the adult synchronized skating team competes with twenty skaters and four alternates as a Festival team. The Ice Effects have enjoyed a very successful 1999/2000 season and are very proud of their efforts. The team captured top honours in two competitions winning gold at the Niagara Invitational Synchronized .Skating Competition in St. Catharines and it the All-Ontario Synchronized Skating Festival Competition in Woodstock. They placed fourth out of 21 adult, teams at the Bemic Deveau Synchronized Skating Competition in Chatham. As well, the team was invited to perform in the Newcastle Figure Skating Club's carnival and the Orono Figure Skating Club's carnival . • The Ice Effects are coached by Nancy Meredith.
