Ambassador to the fair competition The Durham Central Fair Board Is currently seeking contestants to compete In the "Ambassador to the Fair" competition on September 7th, 2000 at 7 p.m. Each September, one con-, testant is selected to represent represent the Agricultural Society during the course of the comingyear. comingyear. Contestants can be male or female, and must be at leait 17 years of age/The winner will be chosen on the basis of public speaking skills, community Involvement, Involvement, and knowledge of cur rent affairs and agriculture. The Ambassador will be Involved In various functions at the fair, and throughout the community during the next year. They will also rep- , resent the fair at the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies' convention at the Royal York in February. In August 2001 they will go on to compete with youth from across the province at the Canadian National Exhibition for the title of "CNE Ambassador to the Fairs". The competition provides many excellent opportunities to the winner and to all contestants contestants involved. Prizes are awarded to everyone, and all contestants will be included in activities at the fair during the course of the weekend.
