KENDAL NEWS by Joan Anderson Horseback Scavenger Hunt ' Jim Savage and Debbie Peddar, a brother and • sister team, took first place in the Ganaraska Horse Club's Scavenger Hunt on Sunday held in the west end of the Ganaraska Forest. Jim's daughter Echo and her friend Stephanie Rutherford came in third. The next Ganaraska Horse Club's event will be the Fall Ride on October 15. Joys and Concerns Mae Playford went to her doctor on Thursday for an appointment, was put straight into the hospital (yet again!) and underwent surgery Friday evening. She is feeling much better now, and will be coming coming home from Bowmanville Hospital Tuesday, September 26. Our prayers will continue for your recovery now Mae. Lea Elliott is now home from ; Kingston General Hospital and recovering well at home. She says that she is now out of pain and starting to do more. Our prayers will also be with you. CONGRA TULATIONS to Randy Frank who has just successfully defended his Doctoral Thesis in Chemistry at McMaster University in Hamilton. He earned his ■ B.Sc. and M.Sc. at the University of Waterloo . His parents Peggy and Ron Frank of Kendal are most justifiably justifiably very proud of their son! Happy Birthday Joan Blackburn and Thelma Westlake both celebrated a birthday on Friday September 22. Kendal Community Centre Progressing Thursday, September 21 a meeting was held at the Kendal School to inform the interested people in Kendal area of the proposed terms of the lease agreement. A list of needed equipment has also been developed. Those at the meeting approved the terms. Fred Horvath, the Operations Manager for the Municipality has been most helpful and received a round of applause for his assistance in this work. Charlie Trim, Councillor, has been instrumental in helping get this school into the hands of the community. Many thanks Charlie!
